Care Guide

Each Glaucei ring is a small act of alchemy—soft glass shaped in the flame, annealed in the kiln, and born of intention. Though they carry strength, they are still glass—delicate, resilient, and deserving of tenderness.

We encourage you to handle with care. Formed from soft glass, every Glaucei adornment is a delicate work of art meant to grace your moments with defiant radiance. Every piece is a sculptural object, made to move with you, then rest safely when the day is done.

Here's how to care for your adornment:

  • Your ring is made to be worn and loved, but it's important to avoid:

    • Knocking it against hard glass surfaces (mirrors, countertops, glass cups)

    • Yes to stacking—no to knocking. Rings can rest together but should not strike one another.

    • Dropping it onto tile, concrete, or glass

    • Wearing during heavy lifting, contact sports, or dishwashing

Gentle surfaces like wood, carpet, or fabric are generally safe if your ring is dropped—but intentional wear is always best.

    • Store your ring in a soft pouch or fabric-lined box when not worn

    • Avoid leaving it in bags, pockets, or car cupholders where it can knock against other items

    • Keep away from other jewelry, especially metal or glass pieces that may cause accidental impact

  • Glass has its own language of breaking—and sometimes, despite our care, it speaks. If your ring breaks:

    • Store the pieces safely, document the damage and contact us at hello@glaucei.com. We offer a one-time replacement per customer journey.

    • If you love your broken piece and want to memorialize it, we’re happy to discuss ways to honor its story.

  • To restore shine or remove buildup:

    1. Use a soft, damp cloth or cotton pad

    2. Gently wipe the surface with water and a drop of mild soap

    3. Rinse lightly and pat dry—never soak or scrub

Avoid harsh cleaners, abrasive materials, or ultrasonic jewelry baths.

  • While not typically apart of the day to day, temperature awareness is important for Glaucei adornments.

    • While kiln-fired and strengthened, the rings are still sensitive to thermal shock

    • Avoid sudden temperature changes (like going from hot water to cold, or leaving it in direct sun then plunging it into water)

Final Notes

Each Glaucei adornment is handmade, one by one, in San Francisco. Slight variations, tiny bubbles, or irregularities are part of their charm. Mimicking the imperfect nature of becoming.

This is not mass-manufactured metal. It’s wearable art—formed in fire and deserving of reverence. In tending gently to what is precious, we believe a deeper devotion to care begins to bloom—one that seeps into the rhythm of your days. May it inspire slow mornings, tender afternoons, and ethereal evenings.
